Lennon Wall Aesthetics

Hong Kong’s Lennon Walls — many thousands of people expressed their wishes freely on colourful post-it notes and collaged them on walls. This unique way of expression appeared during the social movements in 2014 and 2019. The walls disappeared in December 2019 when the government began tearing them down across the city. Lennon walls has a unique beauty. Free, organic, colourful — the qualities in this co-creation by the public are worth preserving and carried on. To merge “mobility” with Lennon Wall Aesthetics, “Lennon Jacket” was designed. Lennon is not stuck on walls anymore but moves around, an embodiment of the “Be Water” spirit.
